It all started with Greg Jewell, a basement, and a dream. Today Jewell Associates employs over 50 professionals, with 5 locations throughout Wisconsin.














2015

As the Coquard family began planning for a major expansion of the Wollersheim Winery they worked with Jewell Associates to design the buildings and site design. Paul Kardatzke and Greg Jewell worked closely with the family to develop plans that captured their vision for the development of this Wisconsin family-owned business.


2018

Five Corner Road Bridge in Green County wins another ACEC Engineering Excellence Award

Greg Jewell is elected an ACEC National Fellow. He was recocnized with this prestigious award at the Fall National Convention.




2021

Jewell establishes its office in Madison to better serve the growing client base in the Southwest region. 6 employees transition over to the Madison office.

USH 12 Reconstruction Project in Sauk County wins 2021 WisDOT Best Rural Design by Consultant.

2022

Jewell establishes their 4th office location in Eau Claire!

Greg Jewell wins ACEC Lifetime Achievement Award.

City of Beloit and Ho-Chunk Nation were successful in acquiring a $18.5 million grant for a project including road improvements near Willowbrook and Colley Roads. Jewell Associated played a large role in writing the grant for this project.

2023

Jewell celebrates 30 years of being in business!

Greg Jewell retires in October.

2024

Jewell establishes their 5th office location in La Crosse!

The Jewell Associates Board of Directors was adjusted to reflect the current organizational structure with Paul Kardatzke as Chief Executive Officer, Jenny LaBatt as Chief Financial Officer, and Noah Anliker, Robert Hanold, Ellery Schaffer, Jeff Smith, and Scott Whitsett as Vice Presidents.

1993

Jewell Associates begins in the basement of Greg and Lisa Jewell’s Spring Green home in the fall of 1993.

1994

Jewell Associates grows and adds several employees. This leads to Jewell Associates moving their location into an upper suite in Jefferson Plaza, downtown Spring Green.

1995

Jewell Associates continues growing, moving to a another new location two blocks away in Spring Green.

Jewell Associates starts working on subdivision designs.

Bridge inspections become a significant service provided to counties and municipalities.

1996

Jewell Associates begins a continuous relationship with Culver’s, working with the parent corporation as well as numerous franchisees across Wisconsin and the Nation.

1999

Greg Jewell is appointed Village Engineer for Spring Green

2004

Jewell Associates merges with Clark Dietz Inc., Greg Jewell manages the Spring Green office and the company’s Wisconsin Transportation Division.

JGS Architects, an affiliate of Jewell Associates becomes an independent firm.

2006

In the fall, the Jewell Division of Clark Dietz, Inc. moves into spacious new quarters in The Prairie Mixed-Use Subdivision located in Spring Green. Building design and layout had major input from Greg Jewell.

Spring 2008

A group of employees negotiates the purchase of Clark Dietz’s Spring Green office and on March 1, 2008 reestablishes Jewell Associates Engineers as a locally owned and manage engineering consulting company.

Fall 2008

Later in the year, Jewell establishes its Wisconsin Rapids office to better serve a growing client base in the northern and central regions of the state.

2008-2009

2008 is the Year of the Flood in Spring Green after two “500-year-Storm” events occur during the first week of June. Jewell Associates is fully engaged in assisting local governments with both emergency responses and long-term planning and design for the mitigation of future flood events.

In 2009, electors of the Town of Spring Green vote and hire Jewell to produce a scientific study of the causes of the flood and to provide recommendations for the mitigation of future flood events.

2010

Architect Paul Kardatzke rejoins Jewell and reestablishes the architecture division of the company on a solid footing, working with industrial, residential, commercial, and government clients.

2012

Two highly visible bridges designed by Jewell Associates are key components of the new Lacy Road/USH 14 Interchange in the City of Fitchburg. Designed in 2010-11, the bridges open to traffic in October 2012.

2013

Jewell lands its first major Federal Contract. The United States Fish & Wildlife Service project involves survey of a contaminated area of the bottom of the St. Louis River where the river enters Lake Superior at Duluth-Superior.
